I think a book like "The Outsiders" IS okay to read in school for various reasons such as it could teach us valuable life lessons,it could teach us about advantages and disadvantages, and its also telling what its like to be in a gang and why you should or shouldn't be in a gang. It is only okay to read a book like "The Outsiders" in school depending on how far it goes with the violence,drugs,gangs,and stuff they do. Because its already a critical topic to discuss or read about in school!I also agree with Shayla somewhat.
Well, I think the book "The Outsiders" is and isnt ok to read.i m in the middle because it is ok to read because you can learn the meaning of gangs and violence and when you grow up you can stay away and be cautious more. i kinda think that it is inappropriate because sometimes a lot of people take it the opposite way and get into drugs, gangs, anf violence.
i kinda of agree wit Shayla and Christa its okay in some ways ,but in others it is not so okay.The Outsiders i kinda think has loyalty tied in with it, and then it talks about the violence,drugs and gangs whcich i don't support at all.So,i'm kinda in da middle
I think "The Outsiders" is an appropriate book to read. People our age are mature enough to read about gangs, violence and drugs. We're used to stuff in this book so we understand it better.
